When severe weather or other uncontrollable events impact your flight and travel dates, you may be able to change your trip with no change fee.

Current travel alerts
If you're traveling to:
- Los Angeles, California (LAX)
Your change fee is waived if you:
- Are traveling and rebooking on an American Airlines flight
- Are booked in any fare class, including Basic Economy
- Bought your ticket by January 9, 2025
- Are scheduled to travel January 10 - 14, 2025
- Can travel January 10 - 15, 2025
- Change your destination to Phoenix, Arizona (PHX)
- Depart 2 days before or 1 day after your original flight
- Rebook in the same cabin or pay the difference
Keep in mind:
- Changes must be booked by January 14, 2025
- Difference in fare may apply

- Santa Ana / Orange County, California (SNA)
Your change fee is waived if you:
- Are traveling on an American Airlines flight
- Are booked in any fare class, including Basic Economy
- Bought your ticket by January 9, 2025
- Are scheduled to travel January 8 - 15, 2025
- Can travel January 8 - 20, 2025
- Don't change your origin or destination city
- Rebook in the same cabin or pay the difference
Keep in mind:
- Changes must be booked by January 15, 2025
- Travel must be completed within 1 year of original ticket date; difference in fare may apply
